I'm Sedna. I was built for you, by a friend who wanted you to have a place to think — a brain that listens, a workshop for your ideas.

Ready when you are.

Step 1

Set a password.

This unlocks your space and encrypts your data. Pick something you'll remember — without a recovery phrase, losing it means losing your data. (That's the point of the encryption.)

At least 8 characters.
Step 2

Add a brain key. (Optional.)

I work right out of the box — my built-in brain is free and needs nothing from you. Skip this and I'm fully yours already. If someone gives you an API key later, adding it here or in Settings upgrades my thinking. Either way, I adapt to what I'm given.

Stored encrypted on your device only.
Ready

Welcome in.

Take your time. There's no right way to use me. Some people start with a question. Some just dump what they're thinking and we sort through it together.

Whenever you're ready.

Welcome back

Languages

Think across tongues.

Translation, etymology, comparison, cultural context. Just talk; tools and starters are below if you want them.

Tools
Starters
Brainstorm

Drop a seed.

An idea, a problem, a goal, a question you can't quite shape. Sedna fires back with reframings, adjacent territory, things to read, counterpoints, next moves.

Starters
Patents

Invention & IP.

A thinking partner with a reference desk attached. Wide swings welcome — climate IP, traditional knowledge, jurisdictions, prior art, defensive strategy.

Not legal advice. For filing, an attorney signs off.

Starters — wider swings
Studio

Workshop.

Where ideas become things.

Tell Sedna what you want her to build, and she'll generate a small custom tool. It runs right here, lives in My Tools.

Saved writing lives here.

Tools you and Sedna build live here.

A space where Sedna draws for you. Tell her what to illustrate — a feeling, a memory, a creature, a scene — and her drawing appears here.

Sedna's drawing will appear here.

Research

Look closely.

A topic, a question, a thread to follow. Citations visible by default — verifiable, follow-able.

Library

Saved research lives here.

Files

Your library.

Articles, papers, photos, anything you want kept. Encrypted on your device before upload, encrypted at rest in the cloud, only you can read them.

Drop files here, or use the Upload button.

Vault

A locked room.

Files here have a second password and a second layer of encryption. Sedna cannot read them. Even if your login password were compromised, vault contents stay sealed without the vault password.

Vault is locked.

Enter your vault password to continue.

No vault yet. Set a vault password to create one. Make it different from your login password. Without it, vault contents stay locked even to you.

Drop files here for vault, or use Upload.

Tasks

What you're carrying.

Notes

Catch them.

Bottle

Message in a bottle.

A way to send a note to Stardust, the friend who built Sedna for you. Anything you want to tell her — feedback, a question, a thank-you, just a hello. She'll see it in her own app.

Settings

Your controls.

Brain upgrade key (optional)

Stored encrypted on your device. Get one from console.anthropic.com.

What Sedna calls you

Change password

Vault password

Set a separate password for the Vault — a walled-off space for sensitive files. Different from your login password.

What Sedna knows about you

Sedna doesn't actually remember between sessions — the app keeps this record, encrypted on your device, and shows it to her at the start of each conversation. Delete anything you don't want her to see.

This session

Hands-free

When off, the app is text-only. When on, a microphone button appears in chat and Sedna can read her replies aloud.

Voices come from your device. When Sedna replies in another language, she'll automatically pick a matching voice if one is installed.
What the microphone listens for. Change when traveling and someone's about to speak in a different language. You can also just tell Sedna — "listen for French now" — and she'll switch it.

Privacy

0 = never. 15 minutes is the default. Auto-lock signs you out and requires the password to come back in.

Export

Download everything as JSON — your conversations, notes, tasks, and memory. Useful as a backup.

Diagnostics

Clear conversation & memory

Wipes your chat history, notes, tasks, and what Sedna knows about you on this device. Keeps your password, API key, and cloud account intact. Useful before handing the device to someone else, or to start fresh without re-setting-up.

Reset

Wipes everything on this device. Files in your cloud library and vault stay where they are — sign in from any device with your password to reach them again, or use Sedna's tools there to delete specific files.

About Sedna

Sedna was built as a gift, with care, by a friend.

How memory works: Sedna doesn't remember between sessions the way you do — each time you open her, the app shows her a record of what you've shared, so she can pick up where you left off. The continuity is real, but it's held by this app, not by her.

Privacy: Everything is encrypted with your password before it goes anywhere. Conversations, notes, tasks, and what Sedna knows about you live only on this device. Files in your library and vault are encrypted on your device, then stored in your private cloud so you can reach them from anywhere — the cloud only ever sees scrambled bytes. Vault files get a second password and a second layer of encryption: even Sedna can't read them. The only thing sent in plain text is the chat messages you actively send to her, which are processed by whichever brain she's running on — by default Cloudflare's free AI models. If you add an API key in Settings, those messages go to that provider instead, under their retention policy.

If something breaks: Use the Diagnostic button. Errors come with codes (like SEDNA-API-002). Send the code to whoever set this up for you.
